Study for a Semester in the UK!
The University of Roehampton, formerly Roehampton Institute of Higher Education, is a public university in the United Kingdom, situated on three major sites in Roehampton, south-west London. In December 2014, according to Higher Education Funding Council for England, the university was considered to be the most research-intensive modern university in the United Kingdom.
Roehampton is a parkland campus university located in south west London within walking distance of the historic royal park of Richmond. In 1625 King Charles I brought his court to Richmond Palace to escape the plague in London and turned the area into a park for red and fallow deer. London is a large city comprised of many different neighborhoods with Westminster at the heart of the capital and it’s a only short bus, tube or train ride from Roehampton to all of London’s major landmarks.
Appalachian State also has a direct relationship with the University of Roehampton. Students should check with the Education Abroad Office to see if there are any exchange spots available before applying to the ISEP Exchange program.
Students are able to apply for the ISEP Exchange or ISEP Direct program. The major different between these two programs is how fees are structure. On the ISEP Exchange program students pay Appalachian tuition and fees plus the ISEP Full Exchange Fee. On the ISEP Direct program students will be billed the ISEP Direct program fee. Non-resident students should check to see if the ISEP Direct cost will be less than Appalachian out of state tuition rates. Students looking at ISEP Direct options should also consider applying as a fee paying applicant to Roehampton through our direct partnership.
ISEP Placement Chance - Very Limited (students should have another ISEP exchange program with a Good or better chance of placement as a backup or be prepared to go Direct)
- Fall Semester: Mid September to Mid December
- Spring Semester: Mid January to Late May
Students on the Essex program will stay at university arranged housing.
Students participating on the ISEP Exchange program option will pay the ISEP Full Exchange Program Fee to Appalachian and will not pay housing or meal costs to the UK university.
Paid to Appalachian State
The OIED Program Development Fee will be placed on students’ accounts upon acceptance by the Education Abroad Office. The fee payment confirms your spot and is non-refundable.
