AIFS Study Abroad

Study in Ireland!

AIFS is recognized as a leading provider of study abroad programs. Since 1964, over 1.5 million students have traveled abroad with AIFS. With more than 50 years of experience, we have the resources and experience to provide what our students want and need in a study abroad program, and to safeguard their welfare around the globe.

During the summer AIFS offers a 3 week summer program in conjunction with the University of Limerick where students can select a course from the following focus areas: Irish Studies, Responsible Business, Health Care, and Sports Science. Included in the program fee are several excursions.

Academic Calendar

  • Summer Semester: Late May to Mid June
For more information about the Academic Calendar please visit the AIFS Limerick web page.

AIFS students live in 8-bedroom townhouses, a 10-15 minute walk from the classrooms and library, with views of the River Shannon and surrounding area. Housing is mixed male and female. You will have a single en-suite room with its own key, and you will share a fully-equipped kitchen and living room. Each townhouse has cable T.V., access to high-speed internet and a phone which can be used with a prepaid card. In addition, the student village has its own laundromat, a village manager and regular security patrols at night.

The cost of housing will be included in the invoice that AIFS sends to Appalachian and students will be billed through their Appalachian term bill.
