Nihon University, Mishima offers students the opportunity to study Japanese from intermediate to advanced levels. Although language classes are not intensive — usually held twice a week — students will be able to experience the life and culture of Japan away from the crowds of the city. Regular courses are taught in Japanese and English across the international studies and international liberal arts departments. English options include an expansive Japan Studies course, while other offerings cover social science, humanities, economics and business from a global perspective.. For more information about the course offerings please visit the ISEP Nihon Mishima webpage.
All students are expected to maintain at least the equivalent of a full time course load according to Appalachian State and the host university while abroad (whichever is greater). Students participating on the ISEP program will be required to enroll in 12-18 credits per semester. For more information about study abroad enrollment policies, credit approval, and credit and grade conversions please visit the Academics section of our website.
